Wine Advocate

The 2004 Triple C is composed of 55% Cabernet Franc, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 15% Carmenere. It is a purple-colored wine with a classy nose of pain grille, smoke, herbs, truffle, graphite, blueberry and blackberry. This is followed by a plush wine with ripe, sweet fruit and outstanding integration of oak, tannin, and acidity. It will evolve for 4-6 years and drink well through 2030. When I was in Chile in January, the winery also presented the 1999 Casa Real (92 points) and the 2001 Casa Real (94 points). It seems clear that Santa Rita Casa Real is one of Chile's benchmark wines.

Score: 93. —Jay Miller, June 2007.
