Laphroaig (La-froyg) is the story of a community. An uncompromising, tough and determined group of people who work to ensure that this defining whisky has always remained true to its origins. These origins can be found in Islay itself - its harsh climate and tough landscape have created a hardy people whose single-mindedness and honesty is as distinctive as Laphroaig. We'd like to welcome you to our Island and our home here at Laphroaig. While you are visiting us, we'd like to tell you some of our 200-year history, show you round the distillery and introduce you to the whiskies which we make. In addition, we'd like you to meet some of our friends here on Islay - people that reflect the spirit and character of Laphroaig and the island. As you discover the uniqueness of our whisky, our island and the people who contribute to it, we hope that you will want to become a member of our extended community, the Friends of Laphroaig - thousands of people from all over the world bound together by their love of Laphroaig and all that it embodies.
