Wine Review OnlineTop-notch Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon for less than $40 a bottle is rare, but it does exist. The 2012 from Louis Martini offers a glimpse of the magic of Napa Valley Cabernet, with a richly textured, powerful wine from this vintage. It shows aromas of blackberry and currant, with finely integrated tannins and a dollop of sweet oak. Platinum award winner at the 2015 Critics Challenge International Wine Competition

Wine AdvocateA blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petite Sirah, 6% Petit Verdot, 1% Syrah and 1% Merlot, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa reveals notes of crème de cassis, unsmoked cigar tobacco and spice box in its surprisingly deep yet supple, medium to full-bodied personality. With excellent purity, texture and length, this delicious, approachable, high quality Cabernet can be enjoyed over the next 7-10 years. The good news is that there is lots of it.

Wine SpectatorModerately rich and layered, with black cherry, plum, currant and light cedary oak notes. This shows impressive balance and depth of flavor, ending with gravelly, fine-grained tannins. Drink now through 2023. 53,000 cases made.

Wine EnthusiastRich blackberry and chocolate form around chalky tannins and a juicy palate, with a waft of cigar in the distance. Medium bodied, round and soft, the finish is brushed in cherry and pomegranate.
