Beyra Tinto 2015
Wine AdvocateThe 2015 Tinto Beyra is an unoaked 75/25 blend of Tinta Roriz and Touriga Nacional. This is a classic "summer red" style, as I like to call such wines these days. It is fresh, fruity, pure and easy to drink. There isn't a lot of power or concentration, but it adds a lively feel to go with its vivid fruit. The sunny demeanor helps lift the fruit and lets it linger on the finish. Given its limitations, about what you expect at this price point, it is hard to score this much higher, but I really liked this a lot for drinking right now. Drink this a little cool and as young as possible and you might feel that the score is too low. It won't reward aging, though, no matter how long it theoretically lasts. Plan on drinking it over the next year or so for best results. When that exuberant young fruit fades, there won't be much left of interest.
