Chateau L'Etoile Chardonnay 2014Beautiful Chardonnay in a traditional oxidative style. Gorgeous minerality with a distinct nuttiness. Etoile is the appellation, as well as the name of the chateau. (The name comes from the star shaped fossils in the soil.) Like some other Jura whites it can be aged without topping up the barrels, giving the classic nuttiness. It remains fresh and light, and utterly distinctive. Try it with chicken in cream sauce or Persian royal rice and you'll thank us forever.
Double Canyon Horse Heaven Hills Cabernet Sauvignon 2013This Cabernet embodies a delectable mix of fresh ripe red and black plum, intermingled with hints of dried red cherry. Characteristic of the appellation and 2013 vintage, the nose presents spiced potpourri with the slightest hint of fresh sweet basil. The addition of Syrah leads to a full and rich texture on the mid-palate, further accented by luscious blackberry notes supplied by the Malbec and bright acidity from the Petit Verdot. The soft and supple mouthfeel is supported by the complexity of sweet oak tannins and fresh fruit character, finishing with the juicy acidity that is characteristic of Horse Heaven Hills.
Argiano Non Confunditur 2015NC is a wine with a decisive, full-bodied character, smooth tannins and a persistent finish. This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah andSangiovese reveals an exciting potency, with the innate gentleness of Merlot creating a bridge between the evident earthiness of Sangiovese, the aromatic blackcurrant flavour of Cabernet and the warm red berries of Syrah. The result is a generous, rounded red wine, destined for short to medium ageing, with delicious aromas of currants and generous fruit flavours, versatile enough to develop in greater depth during long months in the bottle.
Brack Mountain Borne Pinot Noir 2014This wine showcases a deep plum red tone in the glass. Fragrances of orange peel, red cherries and fresh peppercorn linger on the nose.
