Mohua Pinot Noir 2015
|Region||New Zealand, Otago, Central Otago|
Wine SpectatorPlump cherry, raspberry and plum flavors have a firm edge and a bright minerally note of crushed rock, with accents of toasted herb and spice lingering on the finish. Drink now through 2030. 1,200 cases imported.
Wine EnthusiastThere's a lot to love about this Pinot's aromatics, with notes of florals, meat, roasted peppers, chocolate covered cherries and whole peppercorns. The palate, however, is less in tune, for the moment at least. Light to medium-bodied, the oak is prominent, very nearly drowning out the juicy fruit, and the acidity is almost biting. The tannins, though, are silky and well-structured. Drink 2019-2025.
