Wine SpectatorAromas of plums, mahogany and coffee follow through to a full-bodied palate, with silky tannins and a sweet, ripe fruit aftertaste. Delicious young wine. Best after 2008. 1,200 cases made.

Wine AdvocateThe deeply-colored 2001 Barolo is very spiced and floral on the nose, with flavors of focused, bright red cherry fruit and toasted oak, with good length on the finish. It comes across as somewhat austere and shut down today. It is aged 12 months in casks followed by 6 months in used barriques. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2014.
